This summer, we will prepare our hearts for the common mission field of Vacation Bible School by examining the character of God that will be shared with children during that week. We’ll study the timeless truths presented in Psalm 23. This year, we’ll put on the unique lens of examining the presentation of The Good Shepherd through the eyes of Israel’s first shepherd-king, David. By allowing the stories of King David’s life to inform our interpretation of Psalm 23, we’ll see more clearly how a good shepherd in Israel’s past gave us a picture of The Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who is ever present with us.
